5k or 10k walk-run You will be moving through pine forest on forest service roads and along low traffic streets on a mixture of surfaces.

25 mile or 50 mile bike ride takes you through second growth Ponderosa Pine trees on your way to the South Ice Caves. There are three steep climbs and great descents. On a clear day you can see the Cascade range all the way down to Crater Lake.

La Pine Park & Recreation Foundation

Is a supporting non-profit for the La Pine  Park & Recreation District. Together the two organizations provide recreational opportunities to residents of southern Deschutes County. The proceeds from the Big Pine Event will provide scholarships to kids that otherwise would not be able to participate in classes or activities offered by the District.

Packet Pick Up & Pasta Feed:

June 8th 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the La Pine
Senior Center, 16450 Victory Ln. Pasta Feed is
$8 for participants and $11 for anyone else. The
Pasta Feed benefits the La Pine Senior Center.

Aid Stations: There will be check-points andaid stations with water at half way points and the finish line for participants for all events.

Awards: Overall first place finisher for each gender for the10k, and 50 mile cycling event will be awarded $100. Overall first place finisher for each gender for the5k, and 25 mile cycling event will be awarded $50. 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place finishers for each division will be given an award
as well.

 

Each participant will receive a ponderosa pine tree seedling in order to spread the “big pine” love!
